Bob holds a degree in Engineering and an MBA. He has been with United airlines for 33 years, the last 26 of which have been in the Petroleum Administration Department. When Bob joined the group he assisted in the development of a fuel purchasing strategy that he has been actively implementing during most of his career at United. In 1986 Bob founded United Aviation Fuels Corp., a wholly owned jet fuel trading company that sells term jet fuel supply contracts to 35 other airlines, transports jet fuel on most of the common carrier pipelines, trades jet in most of the domestic spot markets and imports jet fuel to the U.S. Bob founded airline consortia and corporations that developed and operate airport fuel distribution systems at LAX, SFO, and IAD. He also was responsible for the construction of the on-airport fuel systems built at HNL, ORD, and DEN. Bob is currently the President of the Honolulu Fuels Facility Corp., the IADFUELS Corp., the LAXFUEL Corp., the Denver Fuel Committee and the SFOFUELS Corp. Bob has served as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the IATA Fuel Trade Group. At United Bob is responsible for the purchase and distribution of 2.5 billion gallons of jet fuel, as well as the service contracts for fueling United’s aircraft. In 2003, Bob contracted with MorganStanley to outsource United’s fuel distribution, logistics and trading. Bob currently serves as Chairman of Fueling California, a California non-profit organization that provides a united voice for responsible major energy consumers, on public policies that impact the cost, supply, content, and availability of essential fuels.
